"The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God."
Romans 8:16
This is a remarkable truth that should elicit awe and assurance in such measure that nothing is able to usurp it. When the Holy Spirit inspired Paul to pen those words, he meant to etch into the hearts for God's children that they are esteemed by God in like measure as his son the Christ.
Christ himself taught us to pray "our father". This is instructive. Scriptures are replete with such pronouncements and narratives that indicate the kind of relationship we have with God. It is a father and child relationship with all the attendant privileges available to children.
We must affirm and assume this as our reality as children of God, that we may enjoy the full measure of his love for us. The confidence we need to thrive as God's children has been graciously dispensed to us in Christ, as co-heirs with him in the kingdom of his father, who is also our father.

All power in heaven and on earth belongs to God. There is nothing that exists outside of his will. He displayed this power in the work of creation and throughout the course of history, he has continued to display his absolute power and control over the created world in various ways.
Our God both displays and restrains his power as he dispenses his rule over the universe. No one else is able to do what he does. In a very remarkable way, he displayed this power over sin and the devil through the life and death of his son our Lord the Christ.
This power has been made available to us as believers. The power to be the bearers of God's power and participate in the dispensation of it upon the face of the earth. We do not often see the evidence of this in our lives because we're looking at the wrong places; inward at our deficiencies instead of outward at what God has done for us and in us. We ought not to think of ourselves but upon the Lord and what he has done and is able to accomplish through us. Our pastor will help walk us through what it means to be a powerful believer in this series.

What does it mean to be a boastful believer? The word boast itself will jump off as connoting a vice. Why then does the Bible admonish believers to boast?
The word translated boast in English versions of the Bible is synonymous with the word rejoice. When the Bible asks us to boast in Christ, it is asking us to rejoice in the fact of what Christ has done for us, not in anything we can ascribe to ourselves. Being justified by faith, we have faith in God through Christ Jesus. We can boast in the glory of God because we have been justified by faith. In Christ we have a sure hope in God; a hope that enables us to rejoice because we can trust in his finished work and the justification he has extended to us not because of anything we can do to earn it.
In this sermon, our Deacon, Kwaw Andam highlights four major points about our boast in Christ – the cause, certainty, capacity and the centre of our boast in Christ as he aims to show that Christ is the centre of our boasting as we have nothing to boast about.
