In the second part of this sermon series titled Religion Without Righteousness, our pastor sought to draw our hearts to the primacy of faith in Christ and Christ alone. That salvation is Christ alone and never Christ plus anything else we can bring to the table. Knowing this, we must place our trust fully in the righteousness of Christ imputed freely into us and to stand in firm opposition against any belief that rises against faith in Christ alone.

We spent our time at our weekly Bible Study meeting to review the sermon we heard on the past Lord's Day which our pastor titled Religion Without Righteousness. Encouraging contributions from everyone present showing just how much the ministry of the Word is continually a blessing to us in our church and beyond.

Leaning on Philippians 3:1 in continuing the series on the book of Philippians, our pastor labored to admonish us to incline our hearts to finding true joy that comes only from a true relationship with Christ and is capable of helping us live above every circumstance and creating a kind of stability in the soul that the world cannot produce.

Sermon Review | The Heart of Ministry Part II | 2nd August, 2023

In our latest Bible Study meeting, we reviewed the concluding part of the sermon series titled The Heart of Ministry. We considered the overarching theme in Philippians 2:19-30 and agreed that abandoning self is a prerequisite for truly committing ourselves to the service of Christ and our brothers and sisters. This was exemplified in the lives of the Apostle Paul and his two protégés, Timothy and Epaphroditus.

Leaning on Phillipians 2:19-30, Pastor Adeola continued in the second installment of The Heart of Ministry series by drawing our hearts to the scriptural directive to strip ourselves of self and submit our entire being to our Lord the Christ, basking in the joy it brings and the privilege to share in his suffering.
