We are to trust him and esteem him far above everything else, placing no one and nothing beside him because our very lives consist in him and we can never know enough of these truths.

The mark of a genuine conversion in salvation is in a life that has been interrupted by Christ in absolute measure. When Christ saves, he stops us fully in our tracks and completely alters the course of our lives, taking total control of all that concerns us. We see that demonstrated in the life of Paul on his way to Damascus and the life he led after his conversion experience. In this sermon, Pastor Adeola sought to bring these truths to our hearts in the most unambiguous way.

Pastor Osagie labored in his sermon to emphasize the pre-eminence of Christ in the life of the believer and how that his life is truly the life of Christ and every step we take is Christ living his life through us.

Taking his text from Psalm 34:19 where we are promised that "Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him from them all", our deacon, Martin Obono, labored to drive home the sure comforts that God's children have in Christ through whatever afflictions they are sure to encounter in their walk. It is refreshing to be reminded that God is in the details and that our travails are but momentary.

The emphasis on the strict basis of God's acceptance can never be enough; we need to be constantly reminded that we bring nothing to the table to be accepted by God and we can do nothing to sustain this acceptance. It is by faith in Christ alone and this is a gift given in spite of our estate in life. Our pastor labored to affirm this position as he continues in our walk through Paul's letter to the Philippian church.
