"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:4-7
The scriptures are clear and emphatic; the Lord has granted His children uninhibited access to His throne of grace and mercy where we can find the kind of peace that passes all human sense, one that thrives far above our circumstances, bringing answers to our every prayer and guaranteeing that we joyfully live above every situation as the Lord takes us through. When we "take it to the Lord in prayer", we draw from the only inexhaustible well of abundance where we find the answers to our every prayer. At the feet of the Lord, all His children are guaranteed all things pertaining to life and godliness.

“This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.”
Our Lord spoke these words to highlight the importance of the state of the heart when we profess our love and worship to God. He sought to establish that true faith and worship starts necessarily from the heart and proceeds to our professions such that any profession that is not rooted in a heart that has been redeemed, is deemed false and abhorrent to God. The scriptures teach that the heart of man is desperately wicked and so only one that has been regenerated by the Holy Spirit is capable of offering true worship to God. In this sermon, our pastor, Adeola Ogundele, labored to steer our hearts to these truths so that we may reevaluate our hearts and prove that we truly love the Lord.

What does it look like for a woman to be a laborer for Christ? God made all things for Himself, to fulfil His plan in the midst of His people and He has made both male and female equal but distinct in order to reflect who He is. God’s design is for women to reflect something of who God is in a way that men cannot and likewise for men. And this is not subjective; scriptures have made it unambiguously clear what distinctive roles God has assigned to women within the context of the church so that they can express themselves as co-laborers in God’s kingdom in a way that glorifies Him. In this sermon, being the second part in the series, our pastor, Adeola Ogundele delves into the scriptures to flesh out with great clarity, what the intent of God is concerning the remarkable role of women in the body of believers.

The role of women in christian ministry is a significant but restricted one. There are spiritual implications attached to the exercise of roles within the church and all believers are called to labor for the sake of the gospel; male or female. The creation story in Genesis shows that God has made male and female male in equality but we also see throughout scripture that He has assigned specific roles to both, a pattern established in creation and restored in the church. In this series, we will see what these specific roles imply and how God has designed that we function in exercising our duties to one another as a body of believers.

Spiritual unity in the body of Christ is more than just getting along to be productive. Rather it is about relationship, characterized by God's perfect love. In this sermon Pastor Adeola Ogundele explains that God loves and desires unity. He is at work in the universe to unite and redeem all things to himself just as He is triune and there is no one like him in the universe, being a perfect union himself. God's people must reflect the reality of who he is in oneness and He has chosen christians as a demonstration of what He can do with a fallen world, bringing people together who apart from the grace of Jesus Christ could not be brought together. Therefore, Christians should remember we are all united to Christ and that we can fight our sinful nature through the power of the Spirit, prayer and mortification of the flesh and with gentleness we can fellowship with one another.
